| Q &
A's multiple cleanses

How healthy is it?.... and at what
intervals, should one do multiple fasts, or multiple cleanses?
My qualified suggestion would be to stay
attuned and conscious of your body and spirit during and after each fast.
Do not proceed to another cleansing fast
prior to that feeling of "my body is healthy enough, and has elevated itself
appropriately since the last fast." At that point one can begin to plan another
cleansing program.
My personal experience has been usually
waiting 5 weeks before commencing a new round of cleansing with colenema's. The shortest
period I have waited was 5 days, the longest almost eight months.
These suggestions pertain only to the
course of your cleansing program. Fasting is not a life-time profession, and it should not
become a form of addiction, or some kind of a new crutch.
How many days should one continue the
cleansing program & fasting programs?
Most of the credible programs all discuss
a minimum of 7 days for a general cleanse- that includes fasting and colenema's.
Specific organ cleansing could be as
short as 3 weeks and as long as 4-5 months. Usually specific organ cleansing &
re-balancing will always incorporate a herbal strengthening program. The more advanced
programs will also incorporate chee-gung (breathing) exercises, stretching/yoga/meditation
and herbal steam baths.
I usually do 12-14 day cleansing programs
(fasts with colenemas), two or three times per year. Each program is usually never more
than 14.
Even though I have met many people who do
15, 30 and even 60 day cleansing programs once or twice a year, I prefer to adhere to the
time consuming, proven way of 14 day cleansing programs.
My reasoning is simple. It's taken a
lifetime of accumulating "all the junk" in my insides, so I don't expect to
clear it out in a few days or weeks. I have prepared myself to gradually change my being
and view it as a process. The duration of the cleansing process per say should take years.
The results, right from the first step, are almost consistently great. That fact motivates
and encourages people to cleanse again.
Can I do my fasting and cleansing
programs by myself at home?
Yes, you can, but please get professional
support to help you during and after your fast. Fasting without professional support can
be hazardous to your health.
It is advisable to do your first cleanse in
a controlled healthy environment under the guidance of experienced Master Fasters. You
benefit by sharing with them and other fasters "the experience". Cleansing takes
place both on a physical and emotional level. Having other like minded people around you
facilitates your openness and awareness and lends support to your cleanse.
Once you've participated in a 7 day fast
with internal cleansing in a supervised environment, you should have a good understanding
of the fundamentals and the basic procedures.
From there, it's only a question of
compromising with the most optimal conditions you desire for your cleanse. If you want to
do a fast at home, you'll need the herbs and other supplements, plus of course a colenema
board. Filtered preferably distilled clean water is preferable. It is also highly
recommended that you set up a "cleansing support" group, both professionally and
emotionally.
As you've already learnt, fasting and
internal cleansing its all pretty basic and simple. That realization always almost
generates the puzzlement of why isn't everyone on the planet doing cleanses with
colenema's all the time?
This is a cost effective preventive therapy
routine. It couldn't be easier...like getting your teeth cleaned every six months at the
dentist, or having your car maintenance done at the garage every 3,500 Kilometers, or
packing the old winter clothes and bringing out to the glorious sunshine the spring
attire... The only major difference is that YOU ARE the mechanic or the dentist, and your
actions of taking personal self responsibility for your health will thrust you into an
ascending positive spiral of rejuvenation and vibrant health.
You can do your fasts at home, even while
you work, the only question that arises in our minds was- is that the best place
environment to do them in? Honesty becomes paramount in your life.
I have done most of my serious fasting in
very controlled environments, Ko-Samui island, Thailand. Good air, good people, good
support, good spirits and great healthy food for nourishing my body after the cleanses. I
consistently devoted myself only to one thing, cleansing my body.
Such an approach was very conducive to the
effectiveness of the cleaning processes- both physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Good friends who have done follow-up fasts on their own at their homes tend to agree, that
its not as beneficial as when doing it at a fasting retreat. The environment, the support
and the professional guidance/insights are missing when you do a fast at your home alone.
. But again, it can be done at home if you like. My suggestion is to do your fasts in an
environment where other people are doing them. That way you have the support of the group
to share your experiences with. Obviously also , it is logical to deduce that there are
certain power spots/locations on the planet that are more beneficial to you and your
fasting than other locations. Certain times of the year are more beneficial than others.
In summary, do your cleansing fasts where
you can get good support and professional advice. Tons of questions are going to arise
during each fast, and you will need all the advice and support you can get to optimize
your fast. If you can not find the time or the money to go to a fasting resort/retreat
than you can do a cleansing fast alone at your home. Seek good local support or register
with an E-Fasting service to assist you electronically. Remember, fasting without support
can be hazardous to your health.
What comes out when you do a colenema?
What is a colenema?
A good analog for a colenema, is taking a
hose and washing down your car. Basically you are doing the same thing when you do a
colenema; you are taking a hose and washing the insides of your piping- specifically your
colon. Imagine how great it looks after washing down the underside of your muddy car. Once
you've sprayed the underside, any improvement seems monumental compared to what was.
Fasting and colenema's do that to your
insides. Monumental change that is not cosmetic, but continual, substantial and enduring.
Once you wash away the toxins that were lying in your gut, your body now has heaps of new
energy that isn't being applied. Previously, that same energy was being used to contain
the toxins. Imagine a hundred thousand men, each with a finger in a dam, plugging closed
the spot the is about to leak. When the dam is repaired and not leaking, those 100,000 men
are now un-employed. Your body has a similar amount of energy now un-employed. It
immediately, begins to re-deploy it in more positive ways- for healing instead of
containment, for growth instead of stagnation, for development instead of despair.
What comes out is the foulest smelling,
dirtiest looking, black crud that has been sitting and rotting in your body for too many
years! Not everything you eat is digested and then excreted from the body. Review internal
cleansing and Trophology; the science of food combining for
more detailed information. Even better yet, buy Dan Reids book, The Tao of Health Sex and
Longevity to really learn what it is all about. Available on line right now. That book is
like a bible. You will open it up and read a paragraph or a page or a chapter or a full
section, put it down and sometime again in the future, start all over again. There is so
much in the book to radically improve your well being that it really is phenomenal.
Did you drop loads of 'massive stuff' on
your second and third fasts?
Yes, to be quite frank I did. Even I was
surprised by the amounts, considering my previous lifestyle, age and habits.
Actually, all the way up to my 100 th day
which is the equivalent of over 2,000 liters of water that was flushed through my colon,
or approximately five 10 day fasts, massive amounts of the foulest looking and smelling,
soft and hard, mucus and feces, were excreted from my body. This excretion primarily took
place from my small and large intestines, but also gall bladder stones were dropped in
mass during my 5 and 6th fast. In addition I dropped large amounts of lymph on my second
and third fasts, probably because only then were the ducts that lead into the colon free
from impacted mucus on the colon walls, so as to allow passage of this waster product into
the colon for elimination.
It is just disgusting to think that all
that refuge was sitting and rotting within my body. That disgust, initially served as the
key motivation for me wanting to do a second fast.
What do you do between fasts?
The period between fasts is the most
important part of any cleansing program. Good nutrition and as healthy an environment as
possible, are critical to the success of the "healing process". We will discuss
shortly what a healing crises is, how to recognize one and what steps to take during such
a crisis.
In between fasts, I spend a lot of energy
eating correctly as per the instructions in the food
trophology section of this website, exercising daily- be it 2-5 kilometer walks on the
beach, Tai Chi or Yoga. I prefer exercising in the afternoons, even though I am quite
aware that the chi is much more stronger in the mornings and that yang energy starts to
wane by mid afternoon.
I almost daily do the 5 Tibetan rights
exercise in the morning after a 30 to 45 minutes of slow enjoyable stretching sessions
that usually commence within 15 minutes from waking up. First order of the day after
waking is a bowel movement. You will be able over time, to deduce the functioning of your
body by the quality of your bowel movements. Every morning, I'm down "there"
poking & sniffing around, to get a better grasp on the food assimilation processes and
toxicity of my body.
I also use the time in between fasts to
either strengthen the colon or alternatively, to work seriously on another internal organ.
Usually 2 to 3 times a year on the kidneys, 2-3 times a year on the liver, and the other
6-8 months once only on a specific organ or meridian. This year, 1997 is the 'Year of the
Pancreas'. Last year was the kidney's. Next year probably the liver or lungs. Who knows. I
don't plan these things as that is detrimental to the whole process of listening and
staying in tune to your body and your needs. This constant listening helps develop
stronger powers of awareness, that when constructively applied to other practices such as
meditation or yoga for example, can be very beneficial.
In short, I make a lot of effort to assist
my body in strengthening and rejuvenating. It's a very conscious effort. Sometimes a
struggle, other times utter delight. Of course, I am aware that still much more could be
done if I had the time and finances.
What happens during each fast? Is it only
physical or also emotional cleansing?
Each fast is different than the previous
one. The rule of thumb seems to be that each one gets easier than the previous one...but
there are the exceptions. Many times one seven day session is insufficient to remove the
refuse of that particular session, and one needs to return again, so as to "wrap
things up, to tidy things up for the next fast".
Regarding the experiences one has, they
differ from fast to fast. The nature of the cleansing programs are such that one almost
never feels hungry. The herbs plus the psyllium husk seeds powder taken 7 times daily with
fresh fruit juices create a feeling of fullness. Neither the mind, nor the body, craves
for food.
Physically, during the first few fasts,
during the first few days, one sometimes feels weak or fatigued. This is attributed to the
large amount of toxins which are being dropped into the bloodstream for cleansing from the
body...and that's a good sign. It's encouraging to know that the program is working. the
worst you feel the happier you should be- because it's working.
Usually, by the fourth or fifth day one
really starts to begin to feel spectacular...and by the 7 or eight day one really feels
great; energetic, confident, and vibrant. The most enjoyable part of this
feeling/experience, is the fact that one begins to recognize that these feelings are not a
temporary relief from the past, but are the beginnings of an ascending "upward
spiral" that will continue for many months to come. That realization takes the great
leap forward to 'years', once one commences on a program of multiple fasts.
With serious attention to your new found
knowledge, e.g., cleansing techniques, correct eating habits, stress reduction through
meditation and other methods, herbal supplements, and exercise, you will attain a much
more enjoyable sphere and dimension of existence. Your being will expand to encompass more
of the positive light that surrounds and impregnates each one of us.
What exactly is a healing crisis?
Understanding healing crises, is one of the
keys to understanding what's happening to you, both on a physical plain and an emotional
one, during and after each fast.
The most important aspect of fasting, and
the most least understood, is the aspect of healing and healing crisis's. Dr. Bernard
Jensen sums it up well in his books where he stresses that what's important for elevating
your good health is not the fasting/cleansing "diets" , but the nurturing and
healing of body and soul that takes place after the cleanse.
Once you've started to remove the
"accumulated toxins in your body" that we discussed above, your body is now
prepared to start healing itself. In effect, the removal of these impacted toxins from
your body means that it can divert the energy that it devoted to containing these toxins
towards other purposes- those being healing the internal organs. It can more efficiently
use that energy as it doesn't need to use it for containing the toxins.
Dr. Bernard Jensen, the great bowel and
cleansing nutritionist discusses in his book 'Tissue Cleansing Through Bowel Management'
in detail healing crises and Herrings Law:
"As you have built up conditions in
the body through foods, pollution, overwork, enervation, lifestyle, etc., we have to learn
our lesson and go back over them and relive them, so to speak. You can expect all of those
problems to return as you get well!....
We find that 'Herring's Law of Cure'
appears in the reversal process as healing takes place. In this process the body
eliminates iatrogenic symptoms and diseases, those things caused by treatments that were
suppressive in nature and usually involved a drug of some kind."
I can not stress enough the wisdom of this
teaching.
After you begin to cleanse your body you
will go through many healing crisis's. Recognize them for what they are...do not run to
your doctor and take medication that will end up only supressing them. If you understand
that your mind and body somehow retain a complete recognition of every cold, illness and
cut you've ever experienced, and that now, it is strong enough to heal it in a healthy
manner, even though many years have past since it seemingly was healed, you will be way
ahead in the game. I know it sounds strange but believe me its true. Somehow the body and
mind retain every bit of information about your physical and mental health, it's all
logged deep in the vault. Now that you have started to physically remove the toxins from
your body, your body and mind in conjunction are ready to use that energy to completely
eliminate the previous dis-eases from your existence.
Can you describe some of your own healing crises?
My own personal healing crises are already
now in the hundreds. I'm so happy each time I experience one as I know and recognize it
now as an old friend, helping me out along my way.
Initially after my first and second
cleansing the healing crises would start to appear only weeks after the cleansing and
sometimes last a week or two, other times days. By my sixth and seventh cleanse I started
getting healing crises continuously, almost immediately after the fasting....and the
minute one would end, within days a new one would start. You can imagine what a pain in
the ass this was, but nonetheless I was happy that they were taking place. I recognized by
then that my body was so healthy that it didn't need to rest weeks before beginning
another crisis. It was strong enough to immediately begin elevating me further. What a
lucky fellow I am.
The body will only go into a healing crises
when it recognizes that it is healthy enough to deal with it. It's a way of the body
saying to you: "look I'm stronger than I've ever been before, so I want to throw off
some of the old 'stories' we've been carrying around for years." The body jettisons
some old baggage, and this consequently means that it becomes even healthier. Each time
this happens the body has more capacity to heal further, a kind of never ending upward
spiral. I hope I've gotten the point across how this process takes place. REMEMBER HEALING
CRISIS'S ARE GOD'S GIFT TO YOU FOR ALL THE EFFORT YOU HAVE MADE IN CLEANSING YOUR BEING.
As I mentioned above I've experienced to
date hundreds of healing crisis's...and for sure there are more to come. Every dis-ease,
cold, cut, problem that you've had in this life (and maybe even some form previous lives
if you believe in that concept) will recur in the form of a healing crisis. Some of the
more serious ones that I've experienced include:
* Pneumonia that I had as a child return
after my fourth cleanse, but this time I new it was going to be gone for good! First thing
I did was to get on the board and the flood of mucus that just wouldn't stop flowing from
my nose and chest for days- stopped within 24 hours. The bowels and the lungs are paired
organs; cleansing one rejuvenates the other.
* After my third cleanse, antibiotics that
were given to me in injections in the buttocks started surfacing from my skin on the
buttocks for 6 consecutive weeks. It looked and felt like tar. I couldn't believe it. The
literature that the pharmaceutical companies give with the antibiotics claimed that it was
washed out of the body within 24-48 hours. Well, that wasn't the truth. It was laying in
the tissue of the buttocks for over 9 years!! But now, as my body was stronger and
healthier, it could finally throw it off and out, once and for all. I kept the open wounds
which were almost a 1/2 inch deep clean, put four or five times a day fresh aloe Vera on
them that I cut from the plants in front of my house and ate everyday 10-15 cloves of
fresh garlic to keep infection at bay. It worked. No infection, little scaring and best of
all no more crude in my right buttock where the injections were given. Interesting enough,
just to substantiate this for you, on my left buttock there was nothing. Completely
normal...and the places where this stuff started oozing from was the centrifugal rings
where the injections were given. It was so clear to me that it was shocking and amazing. I
wanted to go show the doctor who gave me the injection 9 years ago what was happening.
What good would that do? He too was being mislead by the traditional health authorities.
He was part of the problem, not the solution.
* After my fourth cleanse, every scare or
cut that I had in my lifetime, some over 20 years ago, suddenly opened and closed again.
This time they closed with pearl white pure clean skin...and once healed the scars
themselves disappeared too. Probably what happen was when they occurred my body and cells
were not clean, but now the body was healthy enough to recognize that it was carrying
around sick, dirty skin and decided to throw it out for good.
* Herpes was a problem I had prior to
cleansing. During my second and third fasts I had tremendous outbreaks. Two more healing
crises after that and since then they've become a thing of the past.
* Broken bones as a child in my arms,
started to ache for weeks after my seventh fast- I assume that they were finally healing.
I could feel the break, feel the pain inside the bone and feel the healing and new fusion
that was taking place.
* My tonsils were removed as a child. After
my eighth fast, for two weeks I had a healing crises. It felt as if someone just yesterday
took the knife to my throat. The internal cut was prominently felt until it finally
healed.
* Skin rashes that I had on my arms an face
for years, disappeared completely after my second fast/cleanse. All of sudden, almost two
years after I've been cleansing they reappeared again for two weeks. I knew this time that
it was a healing crises, and sure enough I just left it alone. Within 5 days it was gone.
I assume for good, forever.
* Just last month I started to get aches in
my knees similar to the kind I had 15 years ago. Then they lasted for a few weeks and went
away. I completely forgot about it, but when they started acting up last week, was I
grateful. It took me awhile just to remember, that yes, 15 years ago I had a similar
problem, but now I knew that the body was ripe for dealing with it and throwing it off for
good. Whatever it was it's gone forever.
* Interesting enough, at about the same
time I started to get an aching pain in my gut, the kind I had 14 years ago and stayed
with me for years. I assume now, that the above knee problems were associated in some way
with the gut problem, as it too lasted about 10 days and has now gone. Healed forever.
Folks, the list goes on and on. I'll try to
update periodically so you can have reference but remember- don't supress your healing
crisis's. Let them run their course. Your healthier now, after the cleansing then you've
ever been in your life, so don't let fear get into your mind because again, there is no
way you are getting ill- you're healthier now than ever before. Just recognize it as a
healing crises.
Can we precipitate, encourage or slow down a healing
crisis?
My experience shows that the healing
crisis's occur when the body is ready to deal with them, not when you think in your mind
that you are ready. I also find that there is no chronological order. They don't start
from the ones that you had when you were young and work their way up to the latest
illnesses you had prior to cleansing. Also there don't seem to be any pattern of severity.
Sometimes the crisis's are minor colds, aches and pains that you had a long time ago, and
then boom, some major thing like pneumonia that you had only 4 years ago, and then boom
some foolish little thing like a cut or pain again that occurred 10 years ago. It is quite
amazing how random they seem, even though Herring's Law states that there is some orderly
procession, from head down, from outside to inside.
One thing I find for sure after two years
of healing crisis's. I am confident now that I can influence, to some degree, the healing
crisis's.
I began to notice that whenever I started
to feel great, like a superman, and relished- marveled in my good health, immediately
after that, within a few days a healing crisis would begin and throw me back down. I began
to notice this pattern more and more. I began to understand that whenever I was feeling so
great, that was a sign to my body that it's ready to go to work and start healing again.
Of course, who want's to fall down from the mountain top? So, once I recognized this I
started in a sense to manipulate the healing crisis's in my mind. I stopped letting the
mind go to these tremendous highs of feeling great and strive more for the middle path.
"Not great- Not bad- Feeling OK... like I deserve to feel."
This more balanced approach has become a
pattern and I have benefited from it greatly in all my activities. As regards healing
crisis's sometime I think that because of this equilibrium of the mind, the crisis's are
not anymore as severe as before...and I'm almost sure that in a few instances I held off
the crises by just staying balanced in mind and spirit. Ultimately you must remember that
the crisis will certainly come, but at least I began to think that we were partners now
and not entities acting independently. Perhaps this was an emotional and mental healing
process that needed to take place...a lesson of my life that I had to learn to deal with.
At any rate I take advantage of this knowledge and use it now to my benefit.
I must note to you that I have never been
able to bring a healing crisis on. I think that is very difficult to do...and I don't try
to. I like the idea of letting things occur when they should and when the body is ready to
deal with them. I don't mind holding a crisis at bay for a few days, if I can, but I am
quite aware that the reprieve will only be a few days. If the body is strong enough to go
into a healing crisis, it will no matter what I do or try.
Are there also emotional healing crisis's or are they
only physical?
Yes, definitely. Next issue I'll deal with
this issue in depth, specifically spontaneous emotional healing that always occurs
unannounced and unexpected...
I've finished my cleanse (fast and colenema's), have been
eating now for two days, and I still haven't had a normal bowel movement. Is this common?
Yes, definitely. For some people it takes a
few days for all the "internal piping" to fill up substantially enough for
peristalsis to kicked in and naturally cause an evacuation. Don't worry too much. You're
amazingly clean "shit" is on the way. Take a close look at it when it comes out,
for that's the way your bowel movements should look (and smell) all the time!
If your still worried, try taking a
colenema bucket three or four days after you concluded the program and are back to eating.
Sometime, as mucoid fecal matter keeps dropping, a stricture or blockage occurs. It's not
serious, but sometimes that explains the lack of normal bowel movement.
It's important to recognize that by now,
you've made some adjustments (hopefully) to your daily food intake and combining. This
"realignment of your system" from more acid to more alkaline, has a double
effect, particularly on this subject of "the first few bowel movements" after a
fast.
Usually, by the third or fourth cleansing
fast, there are very few obstructions left inside your colon to interfere with peristalsis
kicking in immediately.
Furthermore, it has now been a few months
of realigning your dietary intakes. After the third or fourth fast, peristalsis and most
of your other elimination functions kick in involuntarily. And almost in immediately. Hugh
bowel movements, the size of a a forearm in length and width are common. Once and even,
twice or three times a day, depending of course on the amount of solid food intake.
Look for more information in the
coming months, updated quarterly.....
